8 reasons the American Empire is in decline - Can Barack Obama rescue the USA?

According to a post on Lew Rockwell - Michael S. Rozeff gives the United States 8 simple reasons why the American Empire is crumbling.

The Roman Empire spread itself too thin and eventually collapsed upon itself. At the end of the era, the “Republic” turned into a mobocracy. Is the United States in the same perilous situation?

Here’s 8 reason’s why the USA is in decline:

1. We have the debilitating foreign wars, but no invasion from foreigners.

2. We still have adaptation and innovation, but it is increasingly diverted and controlled by government.

3. We have uneconomic attitudes in government and spreading through the population.

4. We have over-taxation.

5. The real wage growth has slowed considerably or stalled altogether for the average person.

6. A good many industries have spiralled down, but not all.

7. Agriculture has not collapsed, but some of it is being diverted to ethanol.

8. There is definitely waste and misallocation of resources.

Now - obviously all those problems are right there in front of our face. What is Barack Obama going to do about those pressing issues? Is it even possible for him to turn it around?

Go back and read those 8 reasons again. There’s some pretty huge concerns going on.

   1. We should take our troops out of Iraq and maybe even Afghanistan if we can do it without endangering them.
   2. I have no input on that, I do not know about the adaptation and innovation and how it is being diverted and controlled by government.
   3. We have uneconomic attitudes in government and spreading through the population???
   4. There are places where taxes are much higher, and we not rich like the Saudis so cannot afford low taxes. I saw on tv this morning that the biggest billionaires only pay 15% taxes.
   5. Yes, wages have slowed but they seem to go up and down depending on economy.
   6. A good many industries have spiralled down, but not all, some are being outsourced because we all do not want to pay the price for American goods. And why should we? We can outsource things and do what we do best, like blog :o)
   7. Most of it is being diverted to feed people and animals. I would say we should see if we can grow more. Cut out any programs that give incentives for ethanol or for not growing crops.
   8. Always has been, always will be, we have to try to control/stop it.

   Well I think the good thing about Barack Obama is we don’t have to worry about our enemies attacking us as they probably heart Barack Obama lots so…we can check being attacked by terrorists or communist dictators off the list.

   They wouldn’t attack one of their own so…we’re good as far as that goes.

   President-elect Obama is NOT one of their own and we are still vulnerable.
   Hewill have a tough job and I home he manages ok.
