John McCain and Sarah Palin fear Rally for the Republic - they use Hurricane Gustav to “Save Face” from Ron Paul
Why is John McCain teetering away from the Republican National Convention? What is he afraid of? Is he worried that the Rally for the Republic will draw more support? Is he fearful that the delegates would not actually vote for him?
Hurricane Gustav is not near as strong as Hurricane Katrina. The impacts on the economy will be felt, but, will it be as disastrous as Katrina? And, why should John McCain have any role in the proceedings for that community? Is he using Hurricane Gustav as a slight of hand to American voters?
Ron Paul is holding his “Rally for the Republic” convention just a few miles from the Republican National Convention. He has not backed away from any of his commitments to the people. In fact, he has embraced it. And his support continues to grow and grow despite the lack of attention from the mainstream media.
According to Jesse Benton, Campaign for Liberty spokesman, “The Rally for the Republic will send a powerful, positive message to the Republican Party that there is an army of grassroots activists across the country ready to work with them if steer back to their traditions of limited government and personal liberty.”
McCain stated the obvious when he said, “”This is a time when we have to do away with our party politics and we have to act as Americans.”
What exactly is “doing away with our party politics”? I mean, shouldn’t Mr. McCain be fulfilling his scope of employment and working to build the Republican party?
Ron Paul has been consistent, honest, truthful and responsible during this whole GOP process. He has built a large constituency and has a tremendous following. With an expected crowd of 10,000+ at his Rally for the Republic, is it possible John McCain is using Hurricane Gustav to save face from Ron Paul?
The Republican National Convention is going to be full of surprises.

The mainstream media is breaking down. Now they are going to try to break apart our last true source for information, the internet. God Bless our grassroots activists and the Rally for the Republic!
Is it possible that this is speculative drivel? Yes, yes it is. McCain and the other dorks at the RNC were obligated to express enormous amounts of concern and prepare for the worst with Gustav bearing down on the Gulf Coast. There is no other option in the post-Katrina universe. Bush botched it so badly the first time around; many will agree that his presidency has never recovered. And as for Ron Paul… well, he is sure to be getting on some people’s nerves but more power to him (and the people) but Gustav is not political sleight of hand. Run the scenarios: imagine if McCain had ignored Gustav and the RNC had gone on as planned.
I think you are thinking Paul has more pull then he really has. True Paul has some loyal people but regardless as to how he is perceived the republicans just don’t care about him. He can be a threat to them but i just dont see why they would care. the whole party does not care about America so why would they care about Paul
That’s just really silly. Ron Paul has been a known factor for a while now. Remember, he debated with the other Republicans and failed to receive the party nomination. We’ve already heard what Ron Paul and his supporters have to say, and he doesn’t pose a threat to McCain.
If you think that McCain and the Republican party would give up their own convention just to avoid Ron Paul, you are living proof as to why Ron Paul didn’t and likely will never get the party’s nomination.
Yes this is really lame… I doubt Sarah had anything to do with this…
And, according to the wonktards, there was no one at the Paul fete.
Please don’t make me not proud to be an RP republican…
