If you think that McCain and the Republican party would give up their own convention just to avoid Ron Paul, you are living proof as to why Ron Paul didn't and likely will never get the party's nomination. There is no other option in the post-Katrina universe. Bush botched it so badly the first time around; many will agree that his presidency has never recovered. And as for Ron Paul... well, he is sure to be getting on some people's nerves but more power to him (and the people) but Gustav is not political sleight of hand.
