@Rick
McCain and Obama are Senators, this was a Congressional vote, if it passed Congress then it would go to the Senate.
And I’m glad this version didn’t pass. Maybe they can make a new version now that doesn’t pander to special interests and is truly in the best interest of the American people.
McCain and Obama are Senators. This was the vote from the House of Representatives. I definitely do not want my tax payer money going to bail out those persons responsible for the current situation. The answer to freeing up capital for small and mid-range companies revolves around lowering or suspending taxes. Laws should be put in place that would punish those responsible. By the way… if you don’t know… this all started with a by-partisan bill signed into law by Bill Clinton. Both sides are to blame!!!!
duh boy do i feel stupid. They just been on the news so much I guess I thought they should vote anyway.
I wrote to (email) my congresswoman and PLEADED with her to vote no, and SHE DID! She has my vote in November! I feel my voice was heard. I encourage everyone, write to them on issues important to you!
THE SOLUTION
A simple solution. Pass a law that makes all U.S. pennies worth $5.00, nickels will still be nickels, dimes will be dimes, but pennies will be $5 coins. Banks hold a lot of pennies so they get bailed out, the people living in America have the pennies not foreigners. Small business’s get a slight surge along with the great Americans that saved their pennies. Instint fix.
[...] and who voted “not” to bailout bill. Does your congressman need to be fired?read more | digg [...]
@ EK, “Congress” is a generic term for both the House and Senate. House members are referred to as “Congressmen” (or Congresswomen) and Senate members are referred to as Senators. But, Senators are still members of the overall “Congress.”
pass these grass root campaign phrases on
OUT-INcumbents for BAILOUT
JUST SAY NO TO CEO
please pass it on…we must vote these “arrogancia” out!
look for a “State by state” listing of those who voted for bailout..and pass it on to make it easier for voters to let them know that cleaning out their desks will be a priority.
I do not find Maria Cantwell or Patty Murray’s name on either list. They are both Senators from Washington State. Would like to know how they voted.
Um, Maxine Wegner…the Senate didn’t vote yet…only the House. That’s why Cantwell and Murray aren’t on the list - they are Senators.
they didn’t vote because the bill isn’t in the senate yet! Your making the same mistake I did. (see above)
Something JFK said back in the day came to mind while reading your post. “Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings.”

Am I missing something? where is Mccain and Obama
